OUR SUCCESS STORY - REMOTE-FIRST DATA ANNOTATION UNITS

Our second success story is about generating employment for the second broad group of neurodiverse people in the space of AI. Group 2 includes all those who were diagnosed young with a disability and moved into special schools and classes. They were written off at a young age by the system. Most of them don’t make it past Class X. They can’t hide their differences.

OUR SUCCESS STORY – ORCHVATE SOLUTION

In the 6 months that we’ve been operational there are three success stories that we are proud of. Let’s tell you about the first one. We call it the “Orchvate Solution”.

Orchvate Solution opened up employment opportunities for the first broad group of neurodiverse people that we cater to. This Group includes those of us with minimal visible signs of differences. We are able to hide/mask our condition and fit in. We want jobs where the environment is conducive and accommodating of our needs. Most of us are educated and multi-talented.

Our Insights

There has been learning at every step on our journey over the past 6 months. The Neurodivergents that we are associated with fall into two broad categories.

Group 1 includes those of us with minimal visible signs of differences. We are able to hide/mask our condition and fit in. But pretending to be someone you are not, is a huge cognitive load.

Group 2 includes all those who were diagnosed young with a disability and moved into special schools and classes. They can’t hide their differences.

Orchvate’s Solutions towards addressing the underemployment - unemployment issue for both these groups are distinct as their requirements are unique.

The Problem

That’s the enormity of the problem. Higher Education and Employability for Neurodivergents in India offers a grim picture. One out of seven people is neurodiverse. Total Addressable Market in India alone is 197 million neurodiverse people. Where others saw a problem we saw an opportunity.

Neurodiversity creates magic - Let's embrace it.

Where will you get an NT who can store so much in the brain and focus so crazily on something. You give "them" an area of their interest - the focus is unbeatable, and the memory is unfailing.

No NT would want to start studying the next day after exams got over. NTs would want a break. You give them the work "they" want to do – and they need no breaks.

NTs wouldn't think of engaging in something that was not related to studies a week before the final exams, because NTs want good grades. "They" are motivated for reasons they know best. It is not to do well in the exams that’s for sure.

Who needs the label, NTs or "they"??

What was Naomi Osaka's offence – daring to reveal that she is different?

As Psychologists, Mental Health Experts, and Passionate drivers of Neurodiversity, we strongly believe the World minus Naomi needs to be counseled and not Naomi.

We need to create compassionate environments where all Naomis excel without feeling anxious and stressed by allowing them to be their natural selves. Instead we go all out to ensure our Naomis feel stifled and choked and ironically we then say “Naomi Osakas need help”.

Who needs to be treated and counseled - THEY, for making this world more enjoyable for us or US, for making this world unbearable for them?
